This carrier is designed to aid in the transport of stranded sea turtles
The round carrier is available in 5 sizes: 60 cm, 65 cm, 70 cm, 85 cm and 100 cm. We are happy to work with your organization to create a carrier that fits your specific needs.
Also available is a cross-shaped closure design that is approximately 85 cm x 90 cm with 31 cm x 94 cm flaps.
They are all made with 2” nylon webbing which is crisscrossed along the bottom, making them extremely strong. The round carrier features a flap that extends from the tail end of the main body area that is used to secure the animal lengthwise across the top of the carapace as well as 2” nylon straps on the left and right sides for additional security. The handles are covered with a reinforced tubing which provides increased comfort while carrying a turtle. There is a layer of 1/4" closed cell foam sandwiched between 2 layers of a vinyl encapsulated polyester material for padding. They are sewn using a PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) thread that has a tremendous longevity.
Costs range from $425 USD for the 60 cm to $550 USD for the 100 cm. The addition of overlapping restraint flaps (approximately 10" of expansion with a Velcro closure) is $75 USD. We also offer them with removable fiberglass battens in the bottom to provide additional support when needed to maintain a flatter carrying surface. The cost of the battens is $75. They are also available with a removable microfiber collar.
